Plans for the Marquette University (MU) site include the potential for the demolition of the existing structure. However, the university had not resolved the future use of the buildings or the use of the site should it be free of the buildings. MU continues to develop goals and actions, which include the former Dry Cleaner property. Although the construction of any significant building on the site is several years into the future, an interim plan may call for the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a surface parking lot or green space. If implemented, MU would request the remediation plan for the project be bid with the buildings removed first to improve access to the PCE source area and allow surface site development following initial remediation activity. A preliminary scope of work is currently being developed.
