LAC DU FLAMBEAU TRIBE: Lac du Flambeau Lakes AIS Education, Prevention & Planning Project

The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians will sponsor a project to prevent additional aquatic invasive species from becoming established in Fence, Flambeau, and White Sand Lakes. The project includes: a public education campaign to aid in AIS recognition and awareness, development of an AIS educational video in cooperation with UW-Extension, implementation of a Clean Boat-Clean Water boat landing inspection program including inspections at the Flambeau, Fence & White Sand landings with spot checks at other public and private landings. AIS inspectors will monitor boat landings during weekends, holidays, and fishing tournaments.
