GOLDEN SANDS RC&D: Regional AIS - Sth Cntrl Marquette, Green Lake
The Golden Sands RC & D is sponsoring an AIS Education Grant to hire a County AIS Coordinator for Green Lake and Marquette Counties.
Project activities include but are not limited to 1) CBCW inspections, CBCW & CLMN Workshops, purple loosestrife assistance (propagation, education), 2) AIS Inventories (public access lakes only) and early detection / response coordination. 3) Lake Aquatic Plant Surveys (PI's and presence / absence surveys), 4) Education and Outreach Program (schools, media, lake associations, bait dealers), organize citizen based AIS control programs (AIS Coordinator instructs how to control AIS - not to personally conduct more than one AIS control activity per water body), 5) Monthly check in call or meeting with DNR Lakes Coordinator.
