LAKE RIPLEY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Lake Ripley Phragmites Control
The Lake Ripley Management District will conduct a Phragmites control project over the next five years in the wetland near Vasby's channel, Lake Ripley, in Jefferson County. No other sites with phragmites are known in the watershed, and this wetland is protected under conservation easement held jointly by the District the the DNR. Seedhead removal, targeted herbicide use, monitoring and reseeding will accomplish the control goals.
