FDL LONG LAKE PRESERVATION ASSN: FDL Long Lake AIS Monitoring & Control
FDL Long Lake Association proposes to continue to monitor and control aquatic invasive species (AIS) on a lake-wide basis in Long Lake through 2018. The project will include: qualitative evaluations where the entire littoral zone of Long Lake would be searched for AIS, quantitative evaluations before and after treatments, chemical treatment of AIS, two years of volunteer-based herbicide concentration monitoring, professional hand-harvesting of AIS, assessment of mechanical harvesting operation, acoustic survey, whole-lake point-intercept survey, stakeholders survey, 200 hours per year of Clean Boats/Clean Waters monitoring, public and committee meetings, annual AIS monitoring and control strategy assessment reports, and development of an updated aquatic plant management plan which will include a harvesting plan.
