WATERFORD WATERWAY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Waterford Waterway - Flowering Rush Early Detection Control

The Waterford Waterway Management District will hire a consultant to survey and manage a pioneering population of Flowering Rush (Botumus umballatus).

Project deliverables: 2017 and 2018 full point intercept (P/I) plant survey results; summary of the 2016, 2017 and 2018 hand pulling efforts; 2016, 2017 and 2018 shoreline survey results; 2016, 2017 and 2018 Flowering Rush distribution maps; final report evaluating the effectiveness of hand pulling, copies of permits, and data entry into SWIMS.

Project activities:1) Conduct hand removal efforts for Flowering Rush in 2016, 2017 and 2018; 2) Conduct a full P/I survey in the summers of 2016, 2017 and 2018 (2016 P/I survey part of a previous grant); 3) Conduct a littoral zone recon survey in late summers of 2016, 2017 and 2018; 5) Generate a final report containing all the project deliverables.

Special Conditions:1)All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database; 2) Volunteer and equipment use lists and signatures shall be maintained for reporting in kind volunteer labor and equipment.

This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
