WIND LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Wind Lake Starry Stonewort Control Project

The Wind Lake Management District is sponsoring a project to control starry stonewort in Wind Lake. Project activities include: 1) two whole lake treatments for starry stonewort in 2018 ; 2) collection of residual monitoring samples (partnership between the WLMD and WDNR); 3) a plant biomass study before the treatments and after the two treatments are completed; and 4) data analysis and report writing utilizing data collected during the field season.

Project deliverables include: a final report that includes 1) maps of treated areas, 2) plant distribution maps; 3) tables showing frequency of occurrence and relative densities of plants found in the WDNR point intercept plant surveys; 4) results of the residual monitoring; 5) results of the biomass study; 5) electronic copies of treatment records.

Specific project conditions: A draft copy of the final report will be provided to the WDNR for review before the report is finalized. WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of data and reports/plans generated as a result of this project.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
