CRESCENT LAKE ASSOCIATION: Crescent Lake AIS Prevention & Control Project

Crescent Lake Association is sponsoring an Early Detection/Response project which will focus on qualitative surveying, mapping and hand-pulling the recent discovery of EWM in Crescent Lake, Oneida County.

Project activities include: 1) Construction of Association owned DASH boat; 2) Management/control of EWM including DASH and handpulling via scuba diving; 3) Pre/post management evaluation monitoring; 4) CBCW inspections, and 5) Limno-curtain feasibility investigation for small-scale EWM management.

Project deliverables include: 1) annual reports including: a) EWM and purple loosestrife survey data and maps; b) maps and tables of pre/post conditions of managed sites; c) summary of DASH and diver handpulling efforts and observations; d) summary of AIS outreach efforts; 2) CBCW inspection data entered into SWIMS database; 3) summary report on the feasibility of limno-curtains for EWM management; 4) final report including maps of all findings, results of management efforts, project highlights, and management recommendations.

Specific conditions for this project: Annual and final reports need Department review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of letter reports, all maps, and all GIS data.
