SOUTHWEST BADGER R C & D: Green County Non-Native Phragmites- 3 sites-
Southwest Badger RC&D intends to eradicate three small patches of exotic phragmites located in Green County, in addition to a small patch of Japanese knotweed at one of the sites, adjacent to a pond connected with Hammerly Creek. Treatments over several years with the intention of eradication will be conducted, followed by planting of native seed at all sites. The project will be done in coordination with Green County LWCD and permission has been granted by the three land owners. Deliverables include timely control of the target plants; timely communication with the landowners; reseeding of the sites; photographs taken at all stages of the project, and labelled in the final report. Project status will be delivered yearly, and final report at the project conclusion to the DNR, landowners and other partners, as well as on the grant sponsor\2019s website. Press releases will also be done.
