NELSON LAKE ASSOCIATION: Nelson Lake AIS Prevention Project

The Nelson Lake Association is sponsoring an AIS prevention & education project including boat inspections at the public landing; invasive species monitoring; a Training Day workshop on boat inspection, aquatic plants, monitoring, & AIS prevention; information kiosk construction at the improved landing; maintaining educational information at existing kiosks; construction of 3 signs on roads to landings; produce & distribute AIS handouts.

Activities include:

1. Boat inspections will be performed on weekends & high traffic days, such as holidays;

2. Invasives monitoring will be conducted two times over the summer;

3. Provide AIS information to the public at the landing kiosks, along roadsides, & general distribution.
