NORTH & SOUTH TWIN LAKES P & R DISTRICT: North & South Twin Lakes (Vilas cty.) AIS-EPP

North and South Twin Lakes Riparian Association is sponsoring an AEPP grant to study North and South Twin Lakes, in Vilas County, with a study completion date of June 30, 2022. The project will focus on AIS education and monitoring.

Activities:

1. Water quality sampling and analysis and entry into SWIMS

2. Herbicide concentration monitoring

3. Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, early-season AIS survey, EWM peak-biomass, community mapping, substrate mapping, and bulrush mapping)

4. Volunteer AIS monitoring

5. AIS Committee meetings

Project deliverables include:

1. Water chemistry data

2. PI, early season and post treatment AIS data

3. Aquatic plant community and substrate maps

4. Annual AIS Monitoring and Control Strategy Assessment Report

Specific project conditions:

1. Draft of annual assessment report needs Dept review and approval

WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of data from PI survey, early-season AIS survey, EWM peak-biomass survey, and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
