THREE LAKES WATERFRONT ASSOCIATION: Three Lakes Chain AIS Education & Purple Loosestrife Control

Activities: Three Lakes Waterfront Association (TLWA) is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) project focusing on purple loosestrife (PL) biocontrol and AIS education of Three Lakes area residents and visitors. Project activities include: 1) Monitor, map, and control (handpull and biocontrol) PL; 2) Sponsor an AIS/Lake related speaker series at the new Three Lakes Library in summer 2019; 3) Produce and distribute drink coasters and placemats with AIS prevention message to area businesses and distribute t-shirts with this message to Three Lakes CBCW volunteers.

Project deliverables include: 1) PL monitoring, control, and strategy report published in the TLWA newsletter; 2) 3-4 presentations by speakers at the AIS/lakes series; 3) Distribution of AIS prevention education/promotional materials; 4) Article reporting on above activities in TLWA newsletter and on website.

Specific project conditions: WDNR Lakes Biologist will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of PL report, any maps and GIS data associated with PL project, promotional/educational items, and the final report (that is published in TLWA newsletter).
