Control of Non-native and Hybrid Cattail

The Prairie Enthusiasts is sponsoring a project to effectively control of non-native and hybrid cattail on the last of several sites within a preserve to restore sedge meadow and wet prairie vegetation with the following goals:. Conduct permitted herbicide treatments, conducting prescribed burns, reseed the area with native species, and monitor to track progress. Project deliverables include all raw data collected including results of the vegetation assessment, and statistical results; plant monitoring reports for surveyed bays, digitized land use coverage of 300\2019 nearshore area with calculated P loading chart; final 9-key-element plan that includes analysis of water quality with recommendations consistent with the Baraboo River project and Wisconsin River TMDL; materials generated from educational events, lists of participants and assessment of event effectiveness. Project results will be shared: with members, at conferences, and via public field trips to the site.

This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. It is recommended this be submitted 60 days prior to the desired final approval date to give adequate time for adjustments due to the size and complexity of this project. DNR to receive an electronic .pdf copy of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
