The Florence County is sponsoring a project focusing on AIS education, prevention, monitoring, and coalition building with the following goals/activities: 1) Host AIS ID workshop, lake health seminars, Healthy Lakes grant workshop, CBCW trainings, and AIS prevention outreach at other County events; 2) Manage and coordinate eight CBCW county staff; 3) Visit all boat landings and replace AIS signage as needed; 3) Complete AIS early detection monitoring (including water quality monitoring) on at least 30 lakes; 4) Facilitate AIS control projects (including PL biocontrol and EWM hand pulling) with partner organizations; 5) Recruit and train additional CLMN AIS volunteers; 6) Develop annual and final report summarizing project activities.

Project deliverables include: 1) Workshop/event attendance lists; 2) Entry of event attendees, CBCW, AIS monitoring, and water quality data into SWIMS database; 3) Purple loosestrife beetle insectary at local high school; 4) Summaries of AIS control projects; 5) Water quality meter check-out lists and calibration log; 6) Updated AIS maps; 7) Final report.

Specific project conditions: Final report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, all maps, presentations, and AIS educational materials. Voucher specimens will be collected or photographed following DNR protocols and submitted to the regional DNR AIS coordinator. The YSI sensors will be calibrated prior to each use and/or following the manufacturer recommendations and a calibration log must be submitted to DNR at the end of the season.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
