WHITE RIVER LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: White River Flowage EWM/CLP Control Project
The White River Flowage District proposes to control curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment and preventative measures in White River Flowage during the period 2008 - 2010. The project elements and deliverables are specified in White River Flowage District's Aquatic Invasive Species Grant application, dated January 2, 2008. The project includes conducting pre-treatment surveys annually to monitor the extent of CLP and EWM and efficacy of the previous year's treatment; treating CLP and EWM infested areas with aquatic herbicides; and conducting education and prevention activities to prevent further AIS infestations, including placing articles in a local newspaper and conducting watercraft inspections. Watercraft inspection records will be entered into the State's online Watercraft Inspection Database.
