KATHAN LAKE ASSOC: Kathan Lake Management Planning Project
Kathan Lake Association, Inc. is sponsoring an AIS EPP grant on Kathan Lake in Oneida County to be completed by December 31, 2009. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention, and monitoring.
Project activities include: 1) Annual Pre and Post treatment monitoring and analysis; 2) Curly-leaf Pondweed assessment; 3) Aquatic plant community mapping; 4) Water quality monitoring; 5) Volunteer AIS monitoring; 6) Stakeholder participation: CB/CW & AIS identification training, kick-off meeting, two planning meetings, wrap-up meeting, news release, newsletter article(s); 7) Entry of inspection Forms 3200-120 and monitoring Forms 3200-124 onto Dept website; 8) Develop annual project report, management plan and a final report.
