WASHINGTON COUNTY LCD: Washington County AEPP Grant 2020-2021

Washington County will hire a 0.5 FTE AIS coordinator for a two-year period. This position will also provide a 0.5 FTE AIS coordinator for Waukesha County under separate funding.

Deliverables: all data collected; enter all data in SWIMS; list of achievements for each 6-month period of the grant; AIS meander survey results; photos of Kiosks installed; summary of partnership efforts with lake groups.

Activities: 1) Minimum 4 AIS meander surveys/year on lakes & streams lacking AIS data; 2) Implement CBCW program, minimum of 200 hours/year; 3) Install Cleaning Kiosks at launches (at least 1/year) and maintain existing Kiosks; 4) Hold minimum of 4 CBCW training workshops/year for volunteers, county staff, law enforcement & municipal staff; 5) Build lake group partnerships by attending quarterly or annual meetings; 6) Assist ACOE & DNR with starry stonewort research as needed; 7) Invasive species outreach to bait shops, nurseries, pet stores; 8) Hold AIS workshops and training for groups & citizens; 9) Respond to new AIS findings and coordinate appropriate DNR staff; 10) Oversight to CBCW interns; 11) Participate in statewide initiatives like Snapshot Day, Landing Blitz, Drain Campaign as appropriate.

Special Conditions: 1) All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database; 2) Volunteer lists, equipment use lists and signatures shall be maintained for reporting in kind volunteer labor and equipment.

The Grantee should provide the DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
