FOREST LAKE PRESERVATION FOUNDATION, INC.: 2020-22 Forest Lake DASH Harvesting

The Forest Lake Preservation Foundation Inc is sponsoring a grant on Forest Lake to be completed by June 30, 2023. The project will focus on management of Eurasian water milfoil (EWM).

Project activities include:

1. Integrated pest management for EWM using 2,4-D on Forest Lake

2. Integrate pest management for EWM using diver assisted suction harvesting (DASH)

3. Herbicide concentration monitoring

4. Point intercept subset survey in 2021 and full survey in 2022

5. Clean boats clean waters (CBCW) efforts

Project deliverables include:

1. Water quality results and CBCW entered into SWIMS

2. Annual AIS monitoring and control strategy reports

3. Point Intercept and EWM Mapping Surveys

4. Herbicide concentration results

5. Final report summarizing AIS mgmt. and future AIS mgmt. and monitoring suggestions

Specific project conditions:

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
