THE NATURE CONSERVANCY: TNC Mukwonago River AIS Grant

The Nature Conservancy is sponsoring a project to continue the control of 10 exotic species in the Mukwonago River watershed on multiple parcels of wetland, river bank and Lulu Lake. Project activities include: 1) Biocontrol of purple loosestrife; 2) DASH removal of Eurasian water milfoil in 6 acres of Lulu Lake; 3) chemical treatment and mowing of 4 different emergent wetland species and 5 woody wetland species of exotics; 4) reseeding with native plants in treated wetland areas where appropriate and feasible; 5) placement of native aquatic vegetation woven in biodegradable fiber mats on lake bed in areas of Lulu Lake that received DASH harvesting; 6) annual monitoring and mapping of populations of each invasive species; 7) support of the CBCW program for Eagle Spring Lake with channel and boat launch staffing once a week.

Project deliverables include: 1) Biannual progress reports detailing the past six months\2019 activities and accomplishments; 2) a final report showing maps of treated areas, tables of activities, summaries of the efforts for each species and a description of the successes and shortcomings of the project; 3) electronic copies of GIS maps, treatment records and the final report.

Specific project conditions: A draft copy of the final report will be provided to the WDNR for review before the report is finalized. WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of data and reports/plans generated as a result of this project.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
