FOX WOLF WATERSHED ALLIANCE: Target Invasive Species Mapping and Planning - Phase 1

The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance (FWWA) proposes to expand a collaborative, multi-phase effort to map target invasive species by completing roadside surveys within the four-county region of Winnebago, Outagamie, Waupaca and Brown counties. Phase 1 will include roadside surveys across Winnebago and parts for Waupaca counties. The result after three phases will be a comprehensive data set and management plan outlining control strategies for target invasive species.

Project deliverables include: This project will involve roadside surveys, in six counties, and will map the distribution of non-native phragmites and Japanese knotweed populations. Other deliverables include: 1) Education and outreach (develop materials to share with public); 2) Enhanced citizen science and data collection capabilities; 3) Develop phased plan to manage target AIS species (review of historical control practices, priorities for future treatments, etc).

Specific project conditions: The project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report.
