FOND DU LAC COUNTY: Kettle Moraine Lake EWM & CLP Management Project
The Fondulac County Land and Water Department proposes to control Curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment, EWM biological control methods, hand removal, and preventative measures in Kettle Moraine Lake during the period 2009 - 2011.
The project includes monitoring the extent and density of CLP and EWM annually through pre-treatment and post-treatment surveys of known infested areas, and monitoring other lake areas for the presence of aquatic invasive species (AIS); treating CLP infested areas with an aquatic herbicide; conducting hand-removal of CLP and EWM; and conducting volunteer activities to prevent further AIS infestations, including conducting watercraft inspections.
