TOWN OF BARNES: 2022-23 Phase 2 Lower Eau Claire and Cranberry Lakes - Town of Barnes APM Plan

Project Scope and Description of Deliverables

Town of Barnes is sponsoring Phase 2 of a project to develop an APM Plan for Middle & Upper Eau Claire Lakes. Phase 1 of 4 created a base document with APM planning for Middle & Upper Eau Claire lakes. Phase 2 adds to the base document and includes APM planning for Lower Eau Claire & Cranberry Lakes.

Project final deliverables include:

1) Planning & AIS Education agendas & minutes, 2) Examples of shared APM recommendations, lake health, & education materials. 3) Volunteer AIS surveys w/ maps. 4) PI report w/ maps. 5) AIS removal report. 6) CLMN data. 7) Updated APM Plan.

Specific project activities include: 1) Develop APM recommendations for Lower Eau Claire & Cranberry Lakes using existing data & data collected in this project and incorporate into APM Plan. 2) Information shared and presented at meetings with minutes posted on town website. 3) Train volunteers in AIS monitoring. 4)Volunteers will complete at least 3 formal AIS surveys of lake, shore, & littoral zone between June and September & general surveys during open water season. 5) Remove easy access AIS like purple loosestrife or individual EWM plants. 6) Mid-summer whole-lake PI survey of Lower Eau Claire & Cranberry Lakes. 7) Map CLP beds in Lower Eau Claire & Cranberry in early 2022. 8) Collect CLMN data (secchi, total phos, chlor).

Special Conditions: 1) CLMN and DNR Long Term Trends efforts should not be duplicated, and these data shall be included in the trends analysis and final reporting; 2) All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database.
