ENTERPRISE LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB DISTRICT: Enterprise Lake AIS Control Project
Enterprise Lake P&R District is sponsoring a five year project focusing on EWM and Purple Loosestrife (PL) management, AIS education, prevention and monitoring. The goal is to reduce the treatable EWM to less than 10 acres, have the frequency of EWM being observed at less than 10% of littoral point-intercept (PI) locations within a whole-lake survey and all EWM stands below a density of D=1.
Project activities:: 1) Annual EWM chemical treatments; 2) Annual pre/post treatment monitoring and analysis; 3) Project kick-off meeting, wrap-up meeting and AIS training; 4) PL monitoring and control and landing signs; 5) Annual volunteer AIS monitoring and hand removal; 6) Purchase GPS unit for volunteer monitoring; 7) Water quality sampling (P, secchi, chla, DO and temp) and WILMS modeling; 8) CB/CW with volunteers and paid inspector; 9) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept. website; 10) PI aquatic plant survey and community mapping; 11) Annual project reports and final report.
