WHEELER LAKE ASSN, INC: Wheeler Lake Early Detection & Respnse Project
The Wheeler Lake Association proposes to control Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) in Stratton Lake by implementing control measures during the period 2010-2012. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Wheeler Lake Assn's AIS Control Grant application, dated January 28, 2010. The project includes conducting pre- and post-treatment surveys, including a full Point Intercept Survey, and mapping the extent of EWM; controlling EWM with aquatic herbicide treatments; and implementing an AIS prevention strategy that includes developing an information and education program, and conducting watercraft inspections. A current "Clean Boats Clean Waters" (CB/CW) workshop will be taken to receive updated CB/CW materials for boater education.
