GLACIERLAND RC&D, INC.: Target Invasive Species Mapping and Planning - Phase 3

Glacierland RC&D is sponsoring a project to map Phragmites and Japanese knotweed in Brown County to create a management plan with detailed control strategies.

Project final deliverables include: 1) All data collected, including GIS mapping dataset; 2) final comprehensive management plan for Phragmites and Japanese knotweed in Brown County.

Specific project activities include: 1) Map location, density and extent of Phragmites and Japanese knotweed populations within Brown County and enter into existing GIS mapping database; 2) conduct outreach at public events and meetings aimed at informing the public about the project and invasive species in the region; 3) create educational materials that describe the project and will be distributed at community events, on websites, and in newsletters to foster buy-in from the local community and enhance public awareness of invasive species; 4) develop a comprehensive management plan for Phragmites and Japanese knotweed in Brown County.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive an electronic .pdf copy of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.

This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
