THE NATURE CONSERVANCY: TNC Mukwonago River AIS
The Nature Conservancy of Mukwonago is sponsoring a grant to continue the long term control of 11 non native wetland species in the Mukwonago River watershed. This includes the Crooked Creek watershed and the upper reaches of the Mukwonago River.
Project final deliverables include: A final report detailing the control methods employed for each of the 11 species, maps of treated areas, results of pre and post monitoring, treatment records, volunteer efforts for beetle raising and release and a summary of CBCW activities completed.
Specific project activities include:
1) Chemically treat emergent non native vegetation
2) Cut non native vegetation and chemically treat freshly cut stems
3) Burn piles of cut vegetation left in the wetlands
4) Conduct DASH harvest of EWM in Lulu Lake
5) Participate in CBCW activities at the Eagle Spring boat launch
6) Raise Galerucella beetles and release in purple loosestrife stands
7) Monitor emergent vegetation in treated areas prior to and after treatment following DNR protocols
8) Create annual report describing activities implemented and monitoring results
Special Conditions: Final Reports need to be reviewed and approved. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of annual reports, final reports, survey data and all maps and GIS prior to submission of grantee\2019s final payment request.
