MANITOWOC COUNTY LAKES ASSN: Manitowoc County AIS Educ, Prevention & Control Plng Coord Project Ph 2

Manitowoc County Lake Association proposes to conduct education, prevention and planning activities to control and prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into and from Manitowoc County during the period 2010 - 2013. The project elements and deliverables are specified in Manitowoc County Lake Association's Aquatic Invasive Species Grant application, dated January 28, 2010. The project includes; partnering with the Project RED Program for the purpose of monitoring for invasive species along river corridors; facilitating discussions and training public officials and right-of-way managers on AIS issues and eradication; conducting AIS educational opportunities via bus tours, booths, outreach at youth events and public meetings; hosting educational activities to train volunteers on monitoring and prevention methods; and producing a professional level map of AIS in county.
