EAST CENTRAL WISCONSIN REGIONAL PLANNING COM: West Winnebago Pool AIS Coordinator Project

The East Central Regional Planning Commission proposes to conduct education, prevention and planning activities to control and prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into and from the Western Winnebago Pool lakes during the period 2011 - 2014. The project includes, monitoring, research, education/information, coordination and regional wide integration on AIS; conducting educational activities to train volunteers and government agencies in monitoring and prevention methods; and identifying opportunities for regional integration of AIS prevention activities on near-by lakes, highway departments, nature centers, school programs, fishing tournaments, local establishments, local special interest groups, gardening and aquarium retailers.
