TOMAHAWK LAKE ASSOCIATION: Tomahawk Lake 2026-2027 EWM Mechanical Harvest Project

The TLA will continue with another 2-years of its trial program that utilizes mechanical harvesting to suppress dense EWM colonies that exist in high-traffic areas of the lake. This project would continue that effort in 2026-2027, with continued aquatic plant and harvest longevity monitoring. It also integrates an additional late season mechanical harvest \2013 providing additional benefits into the following season.

Activities: 1) 75 days of mechanical harvest each year 2) conduct quantitative monitoring of mechanical harvest 3) late season EWM mapping survey 4) annual meetings 5) annual project reporting

Deliverables: : 1) EWM management and permit reporting (mechanical harvesting records); 2) Data from aquatic plant surveys; 3) Annual and final EWM management and monitoring reports.

Conditions: 1) All monitoring shall follow DNR protocols. 2) Conduct annual meeting with DNR to discuss EWM management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted.

This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.

If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
