FRIENDS OF DUTCH HOLLOW: Hybrid Watermilfoil Integrated Management
The Friends of Dutch Hollow Lake are sponsoring a project to control hybrid watermilfoil on Dutch Hollow Lake in Sauk County.
Activities: 1) Apply herbicide to 8.75 acres in Woodland Bay in 2026; 2) Perform 5 days of Diver Assisted Suction Harvesting (DASH); 3) Point-intercept aquatic plant surveys will take place in 2026 and 2027; 4) Fall milfoil bed-mapping surveys will take in 2026 and 2027.
Deliverables: 1) Treatment records will be submitted for the chemical and DASH control efforts; 2) Point-intercept survey results will be submitted to WDNR lakes biologist in excel format; 3)Maps created from milfoil bed-mapping survey will be provided to WDNR lakes biologist.
Conditions:
1) Point intercept surveys shall follow Recommended Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in Wisconsin: Sampling Design, Field and Laboratory Procedures, Data Entry and Analysis, and Applications, publication number PUB-SS-1068. 2) Lake-wide point intercept surveys to be conducted between June 15 and September 15.
