SQUASH LAKE ASSOC: Squash Lake Association's 2011-2013 Early Detection & Rapid Response Project
Squash Lake Association is sponsoring an second AIRR grant funded project to be completed on Squash Lake, Oneida County. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention, and monitoring and hand-harvesting of EWM in Squash Lake.
Project activities include:1) Professional and volunteer AIS monitoring; 2) Annual EWM mapping; 3) Purchase and building of monitoring supplies and equipment (as listed on page 20 of proposal); 4) Hand-harvesting of EWM via scuba divers and volunteer snorkelers; 5) AIS prevention and education; 6) Prepare annual summary and final report.
