RIVER ALLIANCE OF WISCONSIN: Statewide AIS EPP- 18 months
The River Alliance of Wisconsin will conduct important aquatic invasive species education and prevention over the next 18 months. In addition to implementing the Lower Wisc. River Basin AIS Strategic Plan, they will continue to coordinate Project Red, with emphasis on rapid response to new infestations that are detected. They will post signs at walk-in stream and river access points that are complementary to lake access signs, and they will continue to provide technical support to river and watershed organizations. Asian carp awareness signs will be distributed and posted on Mississippi River tributaries, and conduct a pilot project on coldwater fisheries disinfection. Results of these projects will be shared on their website, via newsletter, blog and presented at conferences and meetings with partners, old and new.
