FOREST LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION: Forest Lake Eurasian Watermilfoil Eradication Study
The Forest Lake Improvement Association proposes to expand a research project involving submersible frame assemblies to eradicate Eurasian Watermilfoil. Project activities will include treatment of an area of Eurasian Watermilfoil followed by transplanting area treated with native aquatic plants. The project will include 400 hours of donated labor ($2,000) as part of the local cost share. A final report will be prepared detailing 1) the methodology used, including construction design, time required for execution, application of screen and plant units, transplanting methods, 2) results obtained, including pre and post treatment plant species and densities (stem density) on test plots, 3) site descriptions, including depth and sediment type in test plots, and 4) problems encountered and recommendations to improve the overall process.
