LOON LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Loon Lake Eurasian Watermilfoil Treatment
The Loon Lake Management District proposes to control Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) to sub-nuisance levels through chemical treatment and preventative measures in Loon Lake during the period 2004-2006. Specifically, the project will consist of conducting annual aquatic plant surveys and mapping the extent of EWM and any other exotic plant species; treating EWM infested areas with an aquatic herbicide; and conducting volunteer activities to prevent new aquatic invasive species infestations, including distributing educational materials to lake users, conducting watercraft inspections and posting/maintaining informational signs at public access points.
