TAINTER/MENOMIN LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION: Lake Tainter Sociological Survey & Educationl Strategies Dev

Establish baseline survey data on Landowner's knowledge of water quality, horticulture practices, construction site erosion and septic systems. Educate lakeshore owners on shoreline zoning, lake and water ecology, good horticulture practices, how septic systems work, and the importance of household water testing and the interpretation of those results. Conduct 100 household water testing samples and interpret the results showing what action can be taken to improve drinking water quality. Conduct workshops for local officials, contractors dealing with water issues. Design educational exhibits relating water quality to be used in the Lake Tainter area. Disseminate information to the public by newsletter mailings, fact sheet distributions, public meetings, summary report mailings, newspaper articles, poster displays, and lake fair and county fair exhibits.
