TOWN OF ROME: Lake Sherwood Groundwater Inflo & Plant Study
The Town of Rome proposes to study causes of algae and weed growth in Lake Sherwood, Adams Co., by studying groundwater inflow into both Lake Sherwood and Lake Camelot. Major elements would include: 1) Minipiezometer sampling around backwaters and bays, 2) Infield analysis for choride and phosphorus, 3) Development of report, 4) Interstitial water sampling and analysis from acquatic plant beds, 5) Acquatic plant analysis for nitrogen and phosphorus, 6) Algal identification/qualification. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided both paper and electronic copies of the final report. Project results will be disseminated to the public through newsletter mailings, fact sheet distributions, public meetings, local newspaper articles and development of a comprehensive management plan.
