UPPER ST CROIX LAKE ASSOCIATION: Surface and Groundwater Hydro. Study, for St. Croix Lakes
The Upper St. Croix Lake Association and the St. Croix Flowage Association are proposing a joint project to study the meteorilogical, hydrologic, and wetland ecosystem characteristics of the Upper Lake St. Croix and St. Croix Flowage wateshed that will provide a framework for establishing a long-term study that quantifies the water budget (inflow, outflow, and storage components) of the watershed hydrologic system. Specific deliverables for this project will include a project report, community presentations and an educational outreach program for local lake associations and community/school groups that focuses on the hydrologic cycle as a dynamic component of the Northland environment. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
