TOWN OF DELAVAN: Delavan Lake Phosphorus Release Study
The town of Delavan proposes to seek information relating to existing conditions with respect to phosphorous release into inlet waters and identify the factors that are most likely to affect such releases. In addition, the field work will provide data from the natural system that may be used for verification of laboratory findings. Project activities include: 1) construct a base site and monitor water quality biweekly for 24 weeks 2) purchase and temporarily install 4 limno corrals 3) collect dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature data from each limno corral and the base site 4) collect and analyze water quality samples within each limno corral 5) report will be provided to the Department, Town of Delavan and the Delavan Lakes Sanitary District within two months of the completed work. Information will be disseminated to the public by local newspaper articles and public meetings. Project results will be reposited at Delavan Public Library, WDNR, Walworth County and City of Delavan.
