ROUND LAKE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, INC.: Round Lake Watershed Assessment, Chippewa Co.

Round Lake has experienced a burst of development in the past 5 years ( 8 homes ranging in size from 1200 to 5200 sq. feet, with most toward the larger size- those 8 homes have been constructed on lots that average less than 100 feet of shoreline). This development, in conjunction with consideration of DNR data identifying Round Lake as both a phosphorous and aquatic sensitive lake, has prompted the Association to desire to move in the direction of attempting to secure currently undeveloped land and have placed in a protected status. This project will provide the Association with data currently unavailable to establish a priority of available land parcels most critical to maintaining water and aquatic quality.
