TOWN OF WEBB LAKE: Big Bear Lake Management Plan

The Town of Webb Lake will conduct a comprehensive lake management planning project involving a study and evaluation of Big Bear Lake in Burnett County. Project activities include; conducting an in-lake water quality monitoring survey, conducting an aquatic plant survey, conducting a fish survey, conducting a shoreland habitat conditions survey, conducting a watershed analysis and developing a nutrient budget, developing a model for calculating lake response to phosphorus loadings, and the development of a comprehensive lake management plan. Specific deliverables for this grant project include: A comprehensive lake management plan for Big Bear Lake including the project results and the following components; (1). Watershed status and watershed practices for lake protection, (2). Shoreland management ideas, (3). Aquatic Plant Management Plan, (4). A fish management plan, and (5). A way to track lake progress and flag future potential problems.
