WAPOGASSET/BEAR TRAP LAKE IMPROVEMENT DISTRI: Bear Trap Lake Aerial Imagery Analysis

The Lake Wapogasset/Bear Trap Improvement Association, Inc. will conduct a Water Quality & Shoreland Protection Utilizing Aerial Imagery Analysis project on the shoreline and immediate watershed of Bear Trap Lake in Polk County. This project will use various types of aerial photography to locate areas of leaching, erosion, and surface runoff and pinpoint sources of possible pollution in the shoreline and watershed area. Activities other than the photography will include follow-up contacts on possible problem areas and conducting educational activities to encourage the implementation of management practices to alleviate problems. Specific deliverables for this grant project include: A Final Report summarizing the information collected during the project activities listed above. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
