VILLAGE OF MAZOMANIE: LMI-Lake Marion Family Recreational Fishery
The Village of Mazomanie will complete a large, multi-faceted lake restoration project on Lake Marion by installing an access sign at the boat landing, installing an aeration system, stocking fish, placing habitat structures on the bed, and reconfiguring and restoring large lengths of shoreline consistent with department recommendations. The boat landing access sign will explicitly reflect the Village ordinance allowing non-motorized boat use of the lake. Current steep shorelines will be graded to provide a healthy diversity of habitat, dead trees will be introduced and anchored to shore, and trees, shrubs and understory natives will be planted. Water quality will be monitored to track lake improvements. Project updates will be shared via social media, press releases, public meetings, and community volunteer workdays and celebration.
