LITTLE GREEN LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Little Green Lake AIS Control Project

SCOPE AMENDMENT: The Little Green Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to control Curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment and preventative measures in Little Green Lake during the period 2007 - 2012 The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Little Green Protection and Rehabilitation Districts Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant Application, dated July 18, 2006. The project includes conducting annual pre-treatment and post-treatment surveys to monitor the extent of CLP and EWM and efficacy of treatments; treating CLP and EWM infested areas with aquatic herbicides; developing an Aquatic Plant Management plan, including the plant surveys recommended by the department; and conducting education and prevention activities to prevent further AIS infestations, including placing signs at boat landings and conducting watercraft inspections. Watercraft inspection records will be entered into the States online Watercraft Inspection Database.
