TOWN OF WOLF RIVER: Town of Wolf River Page's Slough AIS Control Project
UPDATED SCOPE: The Town of Wolf River, on behalf of the Lake Poygan Sportsmens Club, proposes to control curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment and preventative measures in Pages Slough during the period 2007 - 2010. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Town of Wolf Rivers Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant Application, dated August 1, 2006. The project includes conducting annual pre-treatment point-intercept aquatic plant surveys and post-treatment surveys to monitor the extent of CLP and EWM and efficacy of the previous years treatment; treating CLP and EWM infested areas with aquatic herbicides; planting wild rice along the cattail fringe in the northern half of the slough; conducting education and prevention activities to prevent re-infestation, including placing signage at the carp barrier and nearby boat landings. Annual progress reports and a final report summarizing the three-year project will be provided to DNR.
