EAGLE SPRING LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Eagle Spring Lake Plant Survey 2016

Eagle Spring Lake Management District is sponsoring a project to update their aquatic plant management plan.

Project final deliverables: Entry of all data collected into an Excel spreadsheet and an updated APM plan.

Specific project activities: 1) Completion of an approximately 452 point intercept plant survey; 2) entry of results into an Excel spreadsheet; 3) a report with summary tables and maps; 4) upload Excel spreadsheet into SWIMS.

Special Conditions: The report should contain: 1) Summary tables listing plants found, # sites found, overall % frequency of occurrence, % relative frequency of occurrence, overall average density rating; 2) Discussion explaining what the results mean and an overall assessment of the lake plant community; 3) Distribution maps for each exotic species and the top 5-7 native plants (using P/I points); 4) A map imposed on an air photo denoting the harvester cutting paths and areas (in color); 5) Discussion of harvesting logistics- proposed location of off load site(s) and disposal site, map of disposal site, road map showing the disposal site, how often to cut, how deep to cut, how wide to cut; 6) Discussion of the typical chemical treatment strategy showing where chemical treatment typically occurs; 7) Discussion of any new proposed chemical treatment areas; 8) A table summarizing APM options/action items.

This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
