MINOCQUA/KAWAGUESAGA LAKES PROTECTION ASSN.: Kawaguesaga Lake Mgt. Plan - Phase IV Macrophyte Studies & APM Plan
Minocqua/Kawaguesaga Lakes Protection Association is sponsoring a large scale lake planning grant to study Kawaguesaga Lake in Oneida County with a study completion date of June 30, 2008. Town of Minocqua is a project sponsor. The project will focus on developing an APM Plan for Kawaguesaga Lake. Completion of an Aquatic Plant Management (APM) Plan will allow for potential Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) cost sharing grants and permits for Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) and curly-leaf pondweed control.
Project activities include:
1) Education and communication - initial meeting, progress meetings, results meeting, news releases, newsletter articles, and informational pamphlets
2) Point-intercept (PI) survey of aquatic plants with 2 sets of pressed plants
3) Aquatic plant community mapping and analysis
4) Curly-leaf pondweed survey
5) Formation of Aquatic Plant Committee
6) Develop APM Plan
