LAKE METONGA ASSOCIATION, INC.: Lake Metonga Management Planning Project

Lake Metonga Association is sponsoring a LPL grant to study Lake Metonga, in Forest County. The project will focus on updating a Lake Management Plan (LMP).

Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey, planning meetings (up to 2), and wrap-up meeting; 2) Water quality sampling and analysis and City of Crandon storm sewer assessment; 3) Watershed assessment and P load modeling; 4) Fisheries, Shoreline, and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment; 5) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping, and substrate mapping); 6) Late-season AIS survey and EWM peak biomass survey; 7) Data analysis; 8) Develop LMP.

Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Watershed maps and modeling data; 4) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data; 5) Aquatic plant community and AIS maps; 6) Aquatic plant vouchers; 7) LMP.

Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs Dept review and approval; 2) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval.

WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, stakeholder survey, data from PI survey, shoreland assessment, woody habitat assessment, watershed assessment and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
