GOLDEN SANDS RC&D: 8 County Regional AIS Program 2018
Golden Sands RC & D is sponsoring a project to fund two AIS Coordinators to work in 8 counties for a 1 year period (Green Lake, Marquette, Waushara, Waupaca, Portage, Wood, Marathon and Taylor).
Specific project activities: 1) Implement a CBCW program; 2) Expand CBCW Program by forming new partnerships: 3) Partner with local law enforcement; 4) Hold AIS workshops and training for groups and citizens; 5) Coordinate AIS - ID and removal training workshops; 6) Conduct AIS monitoring activities on lakes in system (proactively or by request); 7) Finalize and update AIS Strategic Plans; 8) Respond to new AIS findings and coordinate with DNR Lakes Biologist; 9) Conduct at least 4 PI survey\2019s per year (2 for each DNR District); 10) coordinate the boat washing station effort for Big Green Lake; 11) Outreach to garden centers; 12) Train volunteers on AIS control methods.
Project final deliverables:
1. Enter all data into SWIMS
2. Timely updates of AIS Strategic Plans
3. Annual progress reports to Lake Coordinator
4. Final Report \2013 all data collected, documentation of accomplishing project goals, summary of project outcomes, lessons learned.
Special Conditions: 1) Volunteer lists, equipment use lists and signatures shall be maintained for reporting in kind volunteer labor and equipment; 2) DNR Lake Coordinator directs which lakes have PI surveys done.
This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
Final Report. It is recommended that Grantee provide the DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
