TOWN OF SCHOEPKE: Pelican Lake AIS Education Project
The Town of Schoepke is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Planning grant to be completed by December 31, 2007. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring.
Project activities include:
1) Recruit volunteers and implement a Clean Boat/Clean Water program at Pelican Lake landings
2) Hire 2 AIS coordinators
3) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines
4) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website
5) Disseminate AIS information at boat landings, public areas, resorts, businesses, and newsletter
