LAKE METONGA ASSOCIATION, INC.: Lake Metonga Management Planning Project
Lake Metonga Association, Inc is sponsoring a large scale lake planning grant to study Lake Metonga in Forest County with a study completion date of June 30, 2008. The project will focus on developing an Aquatic Plant Management Plan (APMP) for Lake Metonga. Completion of an APMP will allow for potential Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) cost sharing grants and permits for Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) control.
Project activities include:
1) Stakeholder participation - informational meeting, survey, planning meeting, wrap-up meeting, news release, and newsletter article
2) Water quality sampling by CLMN volunteer (Secchi, P, Chla, DO, and temp)
3) Spring and summer EWM assessment
4) Fisheries assessment
5) Watershed assessment
6) Develop APMP
